Mikulski’s New TV Ad Debuts Today

The Mikulski for Senate campaign announced a new ad, "Pre-existing," will begin airing on Washington and Baltimore Metropolitan Area TV stations today. The ad highlights how Senator Mikulski stood up to insurance companies during health care reform to end punitive practices that deny women coverage based on their gender. Under the new health care reform law Senator Mikulski fought to pass, women will no longer be charged 40 percent more for the same health insurance as men, domestic violence will no longer be treated as a pre-existing condition and women will have access to mammograms with no additional co-pays or deductibles. "I'm proud to say I got the law changed so simply being a woman is no longer a pre-existing condition," Senator Mikulski said.
